• There is a cost for extra services, but the app is free to use and you do need it to setup the router. You do not need to pay to setup the router, view the router’s status or devices connected to the wifi.

• Hi Fran, For the Eero 6 router, there’s no required annual subscription just to use the Wi-Fi. A subscription like Eero Plus is optional and adds extra security and features, but it’s not needed to set up or use the system. You do not need a paid app subscription to install or use your Eero.
