• Yes and then you would disable the built in wireless or the DSL modem/router.

• Yes. One of these eero will plug into that modem via an ethernet cord, that eero will be come the gateway/head eero and will broadcast a wifi network. The other eero can connect to that gateway eero, either wired or wirelessly, and they will broadcast the same wifi network for your devices to connect to.
