You can plug one end into the modem (network cable) and the other into the eero. it replaces your router function and then provides wifi to your place. If you ISP is providing wifi, you can then have them turn theirs off since you now are using an eero to do this.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it should work fine. The head/gateway eero needs access to the internet via an ethernet cable, so a Modem/Router Combo will work fine. There are two concerns. A MRC usually has wireless capability as well as a router. Having two devices generating wifi networks in close proximity can cause them interfere with each other. Either disable the wifi on the MRC or make sure the two are as far apart from each other as you can get them. The other concern is running two routers at the same time. Devices connected to Router A cannot talk to devices to Router B, so if your computer is on one and the printer is on the other, you won't be able to print. You can resolve this by either bridging the eero (turning off its router) or by making sure you have all the devices you want to intercommunicate on the same network.
