But having said that, if your modem has an extra Ethernet port, yes you can connect to to the modem vs. via the router. But insofar as connecting to your existing router, if your router has an Ethernet port available, yes you can

(you don't have to but this eero can replace all your wifi) I connected my 1st eero to my router and then connected the remaining ones using the eero app. It will transfer speeds up to the speed of your ISP
