• If the modem has an ethernet port you would ideally go modem->eero. If the modem doesn't, or it doesn't work, or you just want to use the old router as your router go modem->old router->eero (I would consider putting the eero into bridge mode (Settings->Network Settings->DHCP & NAT) so the eero isn't making another subnet and you can use your old router controls that you are used to
