“I was told that with FiOS a modem would not be necessary and that i could hook up Eero Pro to the ethernet without one. Is this correct? I would like to get rid of Frontier Modem/Router if possible.”

I had the same question. We use Frontier Fios. It was AWFUL. I wanted to get rid of their equipment because we were constantly having to reboot the router. We got eero at the beginning of January and love it. We had Best Buy come install it BECAUSE we have FiOS. They still ran it through the Fios router, but it was my understanding that it is only a gateway...it’s not really doing much. Sorry I don’t know the technical terms, I just know it is a 150% improvement and we couldn’t be happier.

Please try again later.I believe that with Fios it has a main box that can send internet directly to a router without needing a modem...since Eero is a router you can connect that directly to the frontier box and get network up and running that way but I think you have to contact Fios to get that port activated on they’re box
