Yes there is a volume control for both the microphones and the music. This device does not have a CD player and works by transferring music over via a USB cord from the computer or acts as a blue tooth device with songs from your phone.

What I did You can connect it to the internet snd diwnliad the music into the machine. I did all the songs she likes and she kniws how to forward to the next song. Its also bluetooth so you csn put the songs via your phone too. We love the machine. Just got another one for my other nieces. Enjoy it. you will be singing right along too with the second microphone. Merry Christmas.
