I have this amplifier and I use it for our backyard pool system. We have six ohms speakers on this amplifier. You have to change the impedance through a process. I believe you press the power button and put it in standby mode then you press and hold the enter button while you turn the power back on you will get a menu option to change it from eight ohm to six ohm. I did notice a slight drop in sound quality using six ohm speakers. We recently upgraded to a Marantz which is ridiculously far better a receiver and the app that goes with it works where as the Pioneer elite app for this VSX33 no longer works on the current iOS version.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A better match for these speakers would be an amp that can handle lower impedances, but you really shouldn't have any problems with your current amp.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm still waiting for mine to arrive in the mail, but the rear of these speakers state that an amplifier between 4-8 ohms is suitable. Your wattage will be fine, these speakers have a max output of 140 watts.
