Hi, Jon! Thank you for this inquiry and for bringing it to our attention. The reason why the lint filter cannot be accessed is because this unit has a built-in drain pump with the filter in it. The washer was designed to not have an accessible lint filter, and therefore, mainly, it's not stated on how to access, clean, or troubleshoot it in the Care & Use manual.
