We’ve never had the mugs lose their power, even after a couple of hours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In short: Yes. The battery in the mug will last up to an hour. If you want your drink to stay warm longer than an hour, you'll need to put it on the coaster. NOTE: You'll want to make sure the bottom of the mug stays dry. They tell you as much in the user's guide AND with a sticker on the coaster itself, but it's worth repeating. Do not put the mug on the coaster if the charging contacts on either of them are wet. (Ideally, you never want the contacts on the coaster to get wet.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Gen. 1 Ember mug can hold your drink at the perfect temperature for about an hour off the coaster. This was tested at a set temperature of about 135°F, if you like it cooler it will last a little longer, if you like it hotter it will last a little less. If you want to keep your drink heating for longer than an hour, you will need to keep it on the coaster.
