Type A only refers to the USB connector that goes into the host. There are few flash drives that use type B but C will be come the standard in the future. On a typical USB cable, the Type A connector, aka the A-male connector, is the end that goes into a host, such as a computer. And on a host, the USB port (or receptacle) where the Type A-male goes into, is called an A-female port. Type-A ports are mostly in host devices, including desktop computers, laptops, game consoles, media players and so on. There are very few peripheral devices that use a Type-A port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Inexpensive and great for college kids, given the cool colors. Easy to remember what you store on them because they are so different looking
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are not "different" The standard flash drive is type A. These are type A 2.0 meaning that they download and upload slower than 3.0 or 3.1. However, for most individuals, this is fine, especially for documents. IF you want to download or play movies or videos, you may want to get 3.0 or even the new "Type C" that are even faster, however they have a different connector and you would have to have an adapter to use as most devices don't have a type C connection yet.
