• I'd say so. It does just about what word does. That's the reason I bought it. I needed it for letter writing and it gets the job done.

• If the question is asking is it different from Microsoft Word, the good news is that it is very similar. It is a great pick with a great price! So far, I have not had any problems using it (such as functions that are not included).
