• Yes it is a universal charger and will work with other brands. — specs require you charge in pairs and not to mix nimh and nicd batteries

• Yes -- as long as it is NiMH.rechargeable battery (the owner's manual says Do Not Use for NiCd -- which shouldn't be a problem -- I think they stopped making NiCd a long time ago).
