- Answer Yes it is a universal charger and will work with other brands. — specs require you charge in pairs and not to mix nimh and nicd batteries

- Answer This charger does not monitor anything. The only safety feature it has is Timer Shutoff at 16 hrs. The summary description is completely FALSE i.e. "..and LED indicators alert you when they finish charging." (NOT !!!) The LED Green Light is always on, and never goes out, or change color, when batteries are Fully Charged.

- Answer This charger is for AAA, AA, 9V NiMH or NiCd batteries. If your camera uses this type of battery, that would work for you.

- Answer Yes, 4 D batteries will fit but keep in mind you can only charge in pairs and you cannot mix nimh and nicd batteries
