No, you can’t turn off those lights without turning off the fan. However, when you lower the fan speed, it also dims the lights. The lights aren’t bright at all. Your laptop will be sitting on top of it, so you likely won’t even notice the lights. If your laptop is at least 11 inches wide, the lights will be completely covered by your laptop. I don’t even notice the lights are on when my laptop is on it, not even from the sides or the back. I’ve attached some pics, which I took in the dark. I have the fans/lights on high in both pics. One pic is with my laptop on the stand, you can’t even see the blue lights at all. You can only see the light my laptop is emitting. Other pic is what it looks like without the laptop on it. I really don’t think the lights will be a problem for you
