I just bought mine tonight and already took it apart. It has a 128gb m.2 pcie SSD. If you end up taking your back cover off exposing the board, you'll see a metal plate (lift to remove) to the left of the heat sink. Under there you will find the RAM and M.2 SSD. There is a spot on the bottom of the board for a 2.5 SSD, but there is no cable. For future reference you'll need part # L20103-001, if you want to add a secondary 2.5" drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should be a PCIe SSD. Here is the service guide. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06001791 However when I pull up the specs, it is telling me it has a 1TB HDD, which would be SATA and not solid state. I cannot be sure which it is as I am getting conflicting information: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06017675
