“I bought this laptop no more than a week ago and has the same hardware other than the storage, It's 128 GB SSD. Does this computer have the capability of running 2D and 3D CAD? The employee at best buy told me it will but I'd like to other responses.”

I am sure it would. CAD is a fairly simple program to run. I am sure you could reach a limit with a very large detailed 3D build but I do not think you would have an issue.
