I only change one cartridge at a time. Usage for each ink color will vary depending on what is being printed (Color, black and white, etc..) You only need to change the empty ink color.

No, not necessary to change all 4. I usually change the black one between 2 and 3 times before I have to change the color ones. But that depends on the type of documents you print.

You can change just the large black cartridge.

Nope, not at all necessary! Change them as they go out individually.. Everyone prints differently and in different amounts -- Black may need to be replaced twice for example before you even have to replace any of the color cartridges depending on what and how much you print. Enjoy!

No. The reason for putting each color in a separate cartridge is so they don't all have to be changed if only one color runs out.
