Yes, that being the 288i has less ink inside it than the standard 288. The 288i is included with new printers to get it all set up and printing out a few pages. Then it's time to buy proper cartridges. Then you have the 288xl, that one just holds more ink. Costs more upfront, but more efficient and less costly all in all.
