• I have the 3850 and it has a usb to computer cable you can attach to the back to scan, but not a usb slot for usb directly. Hp officejet pro has a model that you can insert an USB directly into it and save your scanned document to.

• I haven't tried it specifically but it allows you to scan to a connected computer (via USB) so I would imagine you could do that. I set it up with my smart phone but there is also an included installation disk.
