I project my Epson 6040 onto a light gray wall and I'm VERY happy I didn't spend a penny on a projection screen. Just make sure the wall is fairly smooth and flat (No bumps/holes in drywall) and don't use a shiny wall paint. You will be very happy with the picture and the money you saved!

While you will save money by not buying an Ultra short throw specific screen and the picture will still look excellent you will get a MAJOR picture improvement by using a screen
