Yes this printer would work with your iMac. As far as printer setup goes, this one is pretty straight forward. The instructions provided are clear and easy to follow. The printer has two ways of connecting (USB and WiFi). The USB method would be the simplest as it is little more than plug and play. The WiFi setup is only slightly more involved as you need to connect the printer to your Network. This will largely depend on how complex your password is, and if your router supports WPS. The only thing to keep in mind here, if that the printer only has directional keys, so longer passwords take a little bit of time to enter, but this usually only has to be done once. Hope this Helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The set-up and operation were very easy and the printer works very well. I have used the scanning feature as well and was very pleased. Since my system is Windows-based, I cannot speak to an Apple system for set-up and operation.
