Hi Vskater, The optical resolution of the Perfection V39 is 4800 x 4800 dpi, so a 4" x 6" photo will result in an image that is a total of 19,200 dpi x 28,800 dpi. If you print the scan at this size you can easily get a clear image at 8" x 10" or 8.5" x 11". With the interpolation built into the scanner, you can expect to print a decent 24" x 36" image.
