Yes, can be used outdoors and I’d say 20 foot to keep the pixel resolution down and also have a safe buffer between guests. I use it at 16 foot on 130” screen in basement put it’s supposed to throw an image at 30 foot easily. The colors are sharp and true and the best blacks I’ve seen on a projector under $2000. At 15 to 20 foot you could start the movie at sunset because of the excellent bulb power. Start it off of ECO mode to watch while the sun’s going down. Long with backlighting, clear as day!
