Hello readyeddie. The EX9240 can connect external self-powered speakers by using the Audio L/R output on the back of the projector. To do this, you would need an RCA or stereo mini-jack-to-pin-jack cable. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

I have an older stereo system. My projector is ceiling mounted running an Apple TV, Roku or another with Bluetooth as not having to run HDMI through ceiling/wall to stereo 50’. I connected a $10 Bluetooth receiver to the AV input on my tuner to pump the surround sound and it works perfect. I control volume with my Apple TV or through the stereo.
