“The video says free 2-yr limited warranty included with purchase of the printer. Why does Best Buy list 2-yr limited warranty as $49.99 or force you to "decline" warranty?”

The benefit of buying Geek Squad Protection is that you can bring the printer to the store and you are provided with a store credit for what you paid for the product so that you may buy something else. While some manufacturers have arrangments with Best Buy that allows them to repair, or replace products under the manufacturer's warranty, some including Epson, do not. This means that in order to take advantage of the warranty provided by Epson, you would have to go directly to Epson to get a replacement. You also would not have the flexibility of choosing what you receive as a replacement. Lastly, I would point out that there are things that are covered under Geek Squad Protection that aren't covered by the manufacturers. Power surge protection is covered by nearly all plans and many of them cover accidental damage.
