“Does the ES-580W have internal storage that retains images of scanned files? If I have to return it for any reason would anyone have access to what I scanned?”

I would assume the only stored image would be the last scanned document, but that's a question for the mfr. Scanning a blank sheet of paper would clear this memory so long as the scanner was still working.

Hello Steve. You can clear any data on the ES-580W from the control panel. To do so, select Settings > Device Settings > Restore Default Settings > ALL Settings. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
