• Thank you for your question. No subscription is required. The MAXcam 360c works right out of the box. We do offer the Drive Smarter app, which is free for users with compatible devices like the MAXcam, which makes it easy to access camera footage, adjust settings, and see shared alerts from other users. There’s also an optional Defender Database subscription, which lets you download and store Defender locations (like red light cameras and speed traps) to your detector’s memory. When you register your MAXcam, you get a 90-day free trial, and after that, paid subscription options are available, but it is completely optional.
