Passport 9500xi offers GPS with allowing you to know speeds your traveling, red light camera detection, marking spots of known police traffic, and is leader in Laser detection. If your paying attention enough you should be able to slow down enough before lights are on to pull you over. Its a much nicer unit then the 8500 which is still a great unit I have 2 spare ones right now as I have 3 Passport 9500xi detectors one for each car. Also when you buy one buy the hard wire kit and never worry to have to plug it in. Hope that helps.
