• Because this is for gen 2 only. Gen 3 already has Ethernet ports so you don’t need this

• The Gen 3 router already comes with 2 ethernet ports, this adapter is for the standard actuated kit which does not come with any ethernet ports, if you want to have more ports on your Gen 3 router I suggest you get a network switch, for more information click here: https://support.starlink.com/topic?category=6&category=53&category=37
