I discovered that I "hear" the motor when monitoring it from my cellphone, but the camera itself, in the room, is silent. I tested it by standing behind it and throwing things in front of it so it would move. I was worried a person would hear it .... and smash it (making it useless).

I’m never more than five feet from the device and it doesn’t make any noise. If your camera is making too much noise then it may not be operating as it should. Contact Eufy for more details
