“I want a camera i can set up towards my front door that can alert me when someone walks in. Personally I don’t want to be recording everything so if it doesn’t it’s fine, but i want an alert so i can quickly open app and start recording if necessary.”

You can set it to alert you and IT WILL! If you have an sd card inserted it will also record that motion automatically if you have it set to do so. I love mine. I used it to monitor my mom when she was house/dog sitting for my daughter for a week. I was worried about her falling and not being able to call anyone for help. This worked great! You can even communicate verbally through the camera if needed. I’m buying another one! Oh and it has an alarm sounding feature that you can activate/set off via your phone using the app!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can watch and record, or not, but you have to set it ip in SETTINGS. It doesn't flip from either, or, instantaneously. So, that step takes time to do as it's all preset in Settings. But you can erase what is recorded, etc. It also has levels of sensitivity to motion to set (from low to higher). I hope this helps.
