Best Buy needs to correct this specification. It was confusing to me too. I actually have to research more and go to Eufy website to get a clarification about the wired thing. It doesn’t need to be hard wired. It’s indeed a wireless camera that works on a built in battery. The solar panel keeps the battery charged if set up as the source. The solar panel gets attached to the camera with a wire that comes with the camera. I asume it’s for this reason Best Buy has it as wired.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is an wireless camera that runs on an battery that last for about 3 months til it needs to be recharged, however it also comes with an small compact solar panel that can be connected to it by an "wire". It only needs about 2 hours a day in direct sunlight to run it all day. Its a Great camera that you can put anywhere around your property as long as it gets sunlight and a good wifi signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not wired, although it can be. It's a usb type C plug. The solar panel is there to recharge the battery. If the camera is in a high usage area, I'd imagine that the solar charger won't be enough to recharge the camera enough, and you'd have to remove the camera and charge it. I haven't had it long enough to test it but depending on positioning, if it's not getting much sunlight I think that's what's going to happen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It gives you the option to do either one, it really depends on the environment you live in. Really though you can use it any where and it will be able to get enough sunlight to keep it always charged.
