“Does it have to be mounted above a certain height? All pictures look like they are mounted on 2nd floor type homes what about homes that are single floor? Can it replace and be mounted where the current outdoor front and back lights are mounted? Thank you”

Yes it can be mounted in those light fixture wires. But you want the power to always remain"on", so your light switch can't be turned off at anytime, or your camera is powerless.
