The key factor here is not the sensor itself as much as the battery in the sensor. Hot and especially cold weather will effect the life of the battery. Sometimes Drastically. The battery in this sensor has these tolerances: Operating Temperature: -10ºC – 40ºC /14°F – 104°F Storage Temperature: -20ºC – 60ºC /-4°F – 140°F Shielding it from the harsh weather rain, snow, etc. is a good idea however it will still be affected by temperatures. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s not rated for outdoor use. However, I have mine outside under a covered porch and have not had any issues with it for over 5 months. I believe it’s rated for low temperatures...I just don’t remember how low. In our region we’ve had temps as low as 28 degrees with no problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I place mine outside of my window at my house. It is covered slightly by the roof eaves. It has been working well for how long I do not know
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am currently using it for outdoor use in 30-40 degree F. If it gets colder, sometimes it will say device unreachable or disconnected. Currently it's has been working fine however besides that.
