“Does the door bell mount allow it to be pivoted left/right & up/down to aim at front walkway properly? My situation would required it to be angled up to about 45 degrees to the right.”

Yes and no. It comes with a 30 degree back plate that can be mounted left or right to get a better view. We used it on crown molding just to get it facing straight ahead. Hope that helps!
