The doorbell records when motion is sensed. I believe you can adjust the length of time it would record, but not continuously. Depending on whether you have the wired or wireless battery version the video is stored either on the doorbell itself (wired version) or on the home station located in your house (battery wireless). Both of these versions have limited storage capacity and that storage would be used up very quickly if it were recording constantly. You would have to manually delete all stored video when it became full.
