When using the E340 (Edge) video doorbell and hardwiring it to your existing wiring, you need to use the provided jumper to bypass the existing chime wires. This jumper can be found in the package contents. By bypassing the chime using the jumper, the existing chime will no longer sound, but this ensures the video doorbell operates stably. The wired doorbell is not compatible with the existing chime, and a sufficient power supply (16-24VAC, 30VA or above) is required. If you do not bypass the existing chime with the jumper, the doorbell may still power on but might operate unstably, or you may hear a buzzing sound from the chime.
