I’ve installed these in numerous places. It’s best to charge them before install to make sure it’s fully charged. And if they don’t get much sun and see a lot of activity/you do a lot of live viewing it can use more power than the solar panels can recharge. It’s been very rare in my PERSONAL experience, but they last several months even in those scenarios.

However, in certain situations, the camera might still need manual charging from time to time. This could be due to insufficient sunlight, such as prolonged cloudy or rainy days, which may limit the solar panel's charging performance. Under normal usage conditions, if the solar panel does not consistently receive the necessary sunlight, the battery life of the camera lasts up to 90 days before requiring manual charging. In ideal weather conditions with adequate sunlight, the solar panel should maintain the camera charged without the need for manual intervention regularly. However, it is always good practice to monitor the battery level to confirm charging efficiency.
