A:Answer I now have five of the same model, S Dash 40 cameras. I have not experienced any troubles with them when it comes to charging. The charger I use is rated at 2 Amps. I suggest go ahead and do all the programming steps to activate the cameras, so that they are usable. Either place them in direct sunlight, or if you are installing them in direct sunlight, you will then be able to use the cell phone app to see how much charge, the batteries are getting. Have the motion detection turned off, make sure the light meaning the LED light is turned off. After a couple days in direct sunshine. You should definitely see the batteries become, or at least gain more power. Let me know how it turns out. Even through the dead of winter, snow on some of the solar panels for three or four days, my batteries in all the units never go below 88% charged. It would be highly unusual to get two units that would be defective. Hope this helps, let me know.
