• It has a heat shield on it. Not sure if it can overheat. I know that Best Buy sells extra cooling fans

• This card runs cool, despite being passive (no fan). It runs a lot cooler than the VC with a fan that it replaced in my case.

• there is NO fan, it has a large heat sink, the system fan is the one either from your power supply of some PC's have either a case fan and or a side door fan. I have it and it works great, no heating issues at all

• I monitor my system using Speccy which is a program bundled with the CC Cleaner Pro bundle and the card has been and is doing fine, i.e. has not overheated, not even close.
