This is most assuredly enough power supply. The system I just put together features a Gen 8 I7 CPU, 32MB of Ram, and a 500 GB and 1 TB SSD drives. Per the motherboard manufacturer all this hardware only needed a 300 watt power supply. Since 300 watt power supplies are no longer common this 600 watt power supply was an available and fairly inexpensive option. Note, also replaced the 80mm case fan with a 120mm fan and installed a rather large Heat Pipe CPU cooler and as a result have a computer that is nearly 100% silent. BTW, also purchased two identical motherboards because I learned a lesson with the motherboard failure that drove this upgrade. That being that after about 2-3 years you have to replace the CPU, Memory, cooling components and possibly the power supply in addition to a new motherboard. Going forward when the motherboard fails all I have to do is install the spare motherboard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The gtx 1080 wants a lot of power. I think it is spec'ed at 500 watts max. It runs far less than that. This PSU can provide constant (continious power up to 600 watts). It will work if your load is less than that. Just for kicks, I monitor my PC's power consumption with a $15 kilowatt meter.
