Hello, Larry! The Roku Express 4K+ does not have a USB port to connect to an external Hard-drive directly. However, you can use a local network drive and the Roku Media Player App. The Roku Media Player App allows you to find, browse, and play content from media servers on your local network and USB (on those Roku players with a USB port). It supports such media servers as Twonky, Windows Media Player, Plex, and Tversity. If a direct USB connection to an external hard drive is required, the Roku Ultra, which has an open USB port, would be a viable solution.
