It doesn't take much effort to set up a Roku (or a Fire TV player for that matter). The important thing it knowing your WiFi password to get it connected to your home network. Everything else required is explained in very simple steps. Just remember you need to create a Roku user account (free) before you try to set it up. You must link your new Roku to an existing user account during setup, and it isn't usable until you do. Go to https://www.roku.com/ to create your Roku user account. You do need to have a credit card to set up the account, but nothing is ever charged to it unless you purchase something using your Roku player. Caution: If anyone ever tries to tell you that you need to subscribe to a special Roku "premium" user account, or that you need to pay a fee to register your new Roku, you have contacted spammers and do not give them any information whatsoever. Don't even give them your name, or confirm anything they attempt to get from you. All they want to do is steal your money, and perhaps take over control of your Roku user account, which in turn would allow them to "break" your Roku and extort a fee to "fix" it.
