Hi, Mel! The Roku Express 4K+ is compatible with any tv that has an available HDMI connection. If you do not currently have a 4K TV the Roku Express 4K+ will still work on an HD TV and will output video at the HD TVs native resolution.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will work fine with a television which is not 4K, as long as it has an HDMI input available. If the television is older and the HDMI port is not HDMI 2.0, I would suggest manually setting the resolution in the device. I have an older Samsung Plasma television with HDMI 1;4 and I was getting an HDMI error message whenever I tried playing 4K content. Manually forcing the Roku to process the content as 1080p took care of the issue.
