“Does anyone else have issues with the remote constantly asking to be paired with the device? Also the remote drains the batteries and doesn’t work a majority of the time without first removing the batteries and reinstalling them.”

Sometimes that is true. I also don't think that the remote is programmed to last more than a year and on half. after awhile, it just doesn't work.
