“What is the purpose of the adhesive strip? I am looking to add a Roku to a wall-mounted TV in our basement. I could get the Roku stick, but I've had ours heat up pretty hot and would prefer a "box" like this. Could I just ziptie it behind the TV?”

Hello James! The adhesive strip is so you can attach the device to a wall mounted TV and still keep it in line of sight for the remote since it is IR. If you zip tie it behind the TV the remote won't be able to work since for this device it needs the line of sight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The adhesive strip is double sided tape to mount the box to the tv or whatever. As far as zip tying the box behind the tv would depend on your remotes setting, line of sight or RFID.
