To use the app you need an account, which is free. You only need to pay for the cloud service if you want to access the recorded footage remotely, or do not want to rely on microsd card to store it.

No you don’t need to subscribe if you don’t want to. You can use a SD card for storage but without subscription, you only have very limited period you can access the saved video clip.
