This unit has four installation requirements. 1. It must remain dry. It is designed for indoor use. 2. It must remain within the temperature range that you would expect an indoor device to be in. 3. There must be a power outlet within 6' of its mounting location. 4. It must be within Wi-Fi range of your wireless router.
