• You do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to load or play the game. You must, however, have your device connected to the internet either through WiFi or Ethernet for the first launch of the game to ensure it is up to date with the newest patches.

• If your talking about playstation plus you only need this to play online with most games if this is what you mean by upgrade.Idont know of any upgrades you would have to pay for to play this game.There are updates for most games that are free of charge and they are automatic .Hope this helps.
